Hiring a magician: your questions
How much does it cost to hire a magician?
Most UK magicians charge somewhere between £300 and £900 for a typical two to three hour booking. Children's parties are often less and big stage shows more. Every quote depends on your date, how long you need and travel, and our price guide goes into the detail.
How far ahead should I book?
For summer Saturdays, weddings and anything in December, as early as you can. Other dates can often be sorted with a few weeks' notice. But the most popular magicians do get snapped up first.
What sort of magician do I need?
Close-up magic suits most events where guests are mingling or sitting at tables. A stage or after dinner show is better when you want one big shared moment for the whole room. For young children's parties you'll want a dedicated children's entertainer.
