Let us know where and when, and we'll send over the magicians who are free, plus a clear quote. No fuss.
Barns and estates in the Surrey Hills
Surrey's countryside venues are a big part of its appeal. Gate Street Barn near Bramley sits on a working farm in the Surrey Hills, and Loseley Park near Guildford offers weddings in its 17th-century Tithe Barn and walled gardens.
Barn weddings tend to be relaxed, with long drinks receptions outside. A close-up magician fits that pace well, joining small groups for a few minutes at a time rather than gathering everyone for a show. When the meal is served in the barn, table magic keeps the atmosphere going between courses.
Surrey's also got plenty of country hotels and golf clubs that host weddings and corporate days, and the same easy-going style of close-up magic works there. It's flexible, too. If your timings shift on the day, a roaming magician just shifts with them.
Tudor estates and Georgian mansions
Great Fosters near Egham is a Grade I listed Tudor estate with a Tithe Barn, an Orangery and lawns for weddings and corporate events. In Cheam, Nonsuch Mansion offers exclusive-use weddings in a Tudor Gothic house set in parkland.
Venues like these are popular for corporate hospitality as well as weddings, thanks to easy access from London and the airports. A magician working the room during a client lunch or summer party gives guests a memorable reason to stay and chat.
Birthdays and family celebrations at home
Surrey has plenty of big gardens and family homes, and lots of our enquiries are for parties at home: a 50th in a marquee on the lawn, a summer garden party, a christening lunch for 40.
Close-up magic is ideal for this. It needs no space, no power and no set-up, so the magician just turns up and gets going. Guests gather round in twos and threes, and the hosts get to enjoy their own party for once.
Children on the guest list? Mention their ages and we'll look for a children's party magician, or a performer who's good with all ages.
Getting the timings right in Surrey
Surrey roads, especially around the M25 and the A3, can be unpredictable on Friday afternoons. We allow plenty of travel time, and it helps if you tell us about parking or access at your venue, particularly at farm venues with long tracks.
Outdoor receptions are lovely in summer, but it's worth agreeing a covered spot in case of rain. Close-up magic moves indoors easily, so nothing is lost if the weather changes.
