Pop us a message with your date, venue and rough guest numbers and we'll send a quote with available magicians. If your event is in Leeds or Sheffield, have a look at our city pages too.
Castles and stately homes
Yorkshire has some of the grandest wedding venues in the country. Castle Howard near Malton offers exclusive evening use of the house for weddings, and Swinton Park near Masham is a castle hotel in parkland on the edge of the Dales. Hazlewood Castle near Tadcaster combines a medieval great hall with woodland grounds.
In settings like these, magic is best kept personal. A close-up magician can work small groups in the great hall or on the terrace, letting the setting do the talking while guests enjoy a few minutes of real astonishment.
Rural venues and long distances
Many Yorkshire venues are well off the main roads, and distances across the county are big. A venue in the Dales and one on the coast can be two hours apart. We plan travel carefully, and it helps to know about parking, gate codes and which building the reception will be in.
Rural weddings often have guests travelling a long way too, so receptions can start slowly as people arrive. Having a magician on from the very start keeps early guests entertained while you wait for everyone else.
Marquee weddings on family farms and estates are popular across the county as well. They're brilliant fun but often have long gaps while food is being served from a field kitchen. Magic fills those gaps beautifully, and it doesn't need anything from the marquee supplier.
Yorkshire celebrations of every kind
Beyond weddings, Yorkshire bookings include anniversary parties, milestone birthdays, race-day hospitality and company summer events. Yorkshire audiences appreciate warmth and good humour, and a magician who chats as well as performs goes down best.
If you aren't sure what style suits your event, tell us a bit about your guests and we'll point you the right way. Could be close-up, could be a short stand-up set, could be mind reading.
York, Harrogate and the coast
York's historic centre is packed with hotels, guildhalls and restaurants that host weddings and private dinners. Parking inside the city walls is limited though, so if your venue is in the centre, let us know where the magician can unload. Harrogate's got its own mix of grand hotels and conference spaces, popular for both weddings and business events.
Further east, coastal towns like Scarborough and Whitby are popular for relaxed seaside weddings and family parties. Same approach works there. Close-up magic during the reception, a visit to each table, and then the dance floor takes over.
