Historic houses across the county
Northamptonshire is sometimes called the county of spires and squires, and its historic houses make wonderful wedding venues. Delapré Abbey, on the edge of Northampton and close to where the Battle of Northampton was fought in 1460, holds ceremonies in its walled garden. Rushton Hall near Kettering is a Grade I listed house with an Orangery for receptions, and Fawsley Hall near Daventry offers a Tudor Great Hall within its estate.
These houses have elegant rooms and lovely grounds. Close-up magic fits around the photographs, the drinks on the lawn and the meal, without needing any staging that might clash with historic interiors.
Corporate events around Silverstone and the M1
Plenty of businesses are based along the M1 corridor and around Northampton. Whittlebury Park, right beside Silverstone Circuit, hosts conferences, awards and weddings in its large suites.
For conferences and company dinners, magic during the networking breaks or the evening reception gives delegates something to talk about other than the agenda. Motorsport and engineering crowds often enjoy mind reading and prediction magic in particular.
Silverstone race weekends are worth knowing about, by the way. Roads around Towcester and Whittlebury get very busy on big event days, so if your booking clashes with one we'll plan the journey around it.
Parties at home, pubs and golf clubs
A lot of Northamptonshire celebrations happen somewhere more low-key than a stately home. A village hall in the Nene Valley. A function room at a golf club near Kettering. A marquee in someone's back garden in Towcester.
Close-up magic is about as easy as entertainment gets for these. There's nothing to set up, no power needed and no stage, so it works in a kitchen just as well as a ballroom. For a party of 40 to 80 guests, an hour or two of roaming magic is usually spot on.
And because we're local, travel costs stay low. If your date's coming up fast, it's still worth asking.
Local knowledge helps
Being based in the county, we know how long it really takes to get from Corby to Towcester on a Friday evening and which country lanes are best avoided in the dark. That means sensible arrival times and fewer surprises.
Our magicians include Members of The Magic Circle, and we'll suggest the right style for your crowd. Relaxed close-up magic at a family birthday, say, or a polished set for a room full of clients.
